1 teacupful of solids = about 4 UK ounces (oz.) = 1/4 pound ( lb.) = 112 grams ( g )

20 fluid ounces in a pint:

5 fluid ounces is ¼ pint

USA has 16 fl oz per pint but a USA pint is smaller

1 UK fluid ounce = 28.4 ml

1 USA fluid ounce = 29.6 ml (so close enough to UK fl oz for cooking)

1 cup is ½ pint;

1 UK Cup is ½ UK pint = 10 UK fl oz = 284ml;

1 USA Cup is ½ USA pint = 296ml

1 UK tablespoon = 17.7ml;

1 USA tablespoon is 14.2ml while the Australian tablespoon is 20ml

For liquid measures:-

15 drops = 1ml

1 UK teaspoon = about 5ml = 5 grams

1 UK dessertspoon = about 2 teaspoons = 10ml

1 UK tablespoon = about 3 teaspoons = 17.7ml

5 UK tablespoons = ¼ UK Cup or half a wineglass = 2.5 fl.oz.(uk) = 75ml

10 UK tablespoons = ½ UK Cup or 1 wineglass = 5 fl.oz.(uk) = 142ml

Spoon Measures - solids ounce (uk) grams

A heaped tablespoon of castor sugar = 0.75 oz. = 21g

A heaped tablespoon of flour = 1 oz. = 28g

A heaped tablespoon of butter = 1.25 oz. = 35g

A heaped tablespoon of cornflour = 0.5 oz. = 14g

A heaped tablespoon of gelatin = 0.75 oz. = 21g

A level tablespoon of sugar = 1 oz. = 28g ??????????????????
